The mission of the Harrisburg Area Food Pantry (HAFP) is to support those in the greater Harrisburg area experiencing food insecurity, primarily by providing emergency food assistance. Formerly known as the Ecumenical Food Pantry, HAFP is one of the largest food pantries in Dauphin County and one of the few that provides access to emergency food assistance at least five days per week.
Many thanks to UCH members Barbara Byrne and Joe Heefner for coordinating our ongoing food donations to the pantry!
**Last month, a check totaling $1,230.70 was donated to Gather the Spirit for Justice. Thank you for supporting our beloved community with your generous plate gifts!**
Several people who had ordered trees from PA-IPL did not pick up their orders. The trees and shrubs are now available for UCH members - as long as you intend to plant them asap. The type of trees and shrubs are tagged and are located between the mulch piles behind the back parking lot and the shed. It's not too late to plant if you plant them soon before the ground freezes. Stakes and tubes are also available next to the rear parking lot. Any trees or shrubs not picked up by our final clean-up day, Saturday, Nov. 22, will be donated to a native tree farm. Please join us for the clean-up on Nov. 22 at 9:00 am. All are welcome and lunch will be provided.
If you are interested in UCH Game Nights, please click this link and fill out a brief survey as we consider the best schedule in the months to come. Also remember to add your email address if you want to be on the notification mailing list.

"As It Happens, Children Are People"
Rev. Bran Lennox
Here in the U.S., minors are functionally the property of their parents. In a society where young people are so disenfranchised, what can adults do to better respect children's personhood?
Members and friends can submit joys and/or sorrows to be read (with your permission) during a Sunday service. Submissions sent before Friday at noon will be read that Sunday, all others will be held for the next week.
